Box Score Columbia, S.C., — The Edward Waters women's soccer team collected a huge 8-1 road victory over Allen University Sunday afternoon at SE Freight Lines Soccer ComplexSE Freight Lines Soccer Complex.
With the win, EWU moves to 3-4-1 on the season.
The Lady Tigers played a stellar game as six different players scored goals as they scored five goals in the opening half of action. Rose-Bertude Rosinvil garnered two goals on five shots with one assist as well. Rosinvil is now tied for the team lead with four goals on the season. Andrea Rodriguez also notched two goals for EWU, her first two goals of the season.
Dadie Cherenfant, Libby Brown, Daniela Iduriaga and Dahien Cabrera all chipped in one goal each for the Lady Tigers. Brown and Cabrera also tallied one assist each.
Unfortunately, an own goal scored by EWU prevented the shutout victory for the Lady Tigers. Nonetheless, the Edward Waters defense was stout not even allowing an Allen shot attempt until the second half of play.
Olivia Galloway got the start and saw over 40 m minutes in the box. Sheila Pascual recorded two saves in the match in 50 minutes of action.
The Lady Tigers will return to play with road match against Albany State on Wednesday, October 2 before returning home for a Friday afternoon contest against Bob Jones University. The contest will begin at 1:00 pm at Glover Field and Stadium.
