Lady Tigers Fall to Lynn, 3-0, in Road Match

BOCA RATON, Fla. — The Edward Waters University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback to Lynn University Saturday evening at Bobby Campbell Stadium.

The Lady Tigers battled throughout the contest but were unable to overcome an early deficit, as Lynn found the back of the net three times during the opening 31 minutes.

Lynn opened the scoring just 4:04 into the match when Brooklyn Steiner converted an opportunity off an assist from Alexandra Rigg. Rigg then doubled the Fighting Knights' advantage in the 21st minute, scoring with an assist from Catarina Fernandes.

Steiner added her second goal of the evening at the 30:39 mark, with Isabella Battista providing the assist, giving Lynn a 3-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Edward Waters continued to compete in the second half, generating four shots after the break and finishing the match with 11 total attempts, including five on goal. Lynn, however, controlled much of the offensive possession and finished with 31 shots, 16 of which were on target.

The Lady Tigers also earned two corner kicks, while Lynn recorded 12. Edward Waters goalkeeper play was active throughout the contest, with the Tigers recording 13 saves as a team.

Despite the setback, Edward Waters moves forward with a 3-2-1 record on the season and will look to bounce back in its next contest.

The Lady Tigers return to action Monday, September 14, at 1:00 p.m. when Edward Waters faces Florida Memorial University. The matchup will provide another opportunity for EWU to return to the win column and continue its strong start to the 2026 campaign.
