Jacksonville, Florida-The reigning and defending SIAC East Division Champion and Tournament Runner-Up Edward Waters women's volleyball squad unveiled their schedule for the upcoming 2023 campaign on Tuesday morning.
The Lady Tigers will be under new management this season as Lauren Ford, fresh off of leading the men's volleyball squad to an undefeated conference regular season, a regular season championship, and the tournament title, will begin her inaugural season leading the women's squad.
Edward Waters will open the 2023 schedule on the road on September 2nd in Tampa Bay against Saint Leo. EWU will have their home opener three days later as they will host former Sun Conference foe Warner University at the Adams-Jenkins Complex, then on September 8th, the Lady Tigers will head to South Florida to battle the Knights of Lynn University.
The Purple & Orange then will head to Montgomery, Alabama for the second straight year as they will participate in the Warhawk Volleyball Invitational, hosted by Auburn University-Montgomery. The Lady Tigers will open the Invitational on September 15th against West Georgia, then on the 16th EWU will take on both Southern Arkansas and the host school Auburn-Montgomery.
EWU will return to Jacksonville on September 19th as they will open SIAC play against East Division foe Benedict. The Lady Tigers will then hit the road for a 13-game road trip starting in Cartersville, Georgia at the SIAC Crossover. On September 21st, EWU will matchup against Kentucky State and Central State, on the 22nd, the Lady Tigers will battle Miles and LeMoyne-Owen, and on the 23, Edward Waters will close the crossover against Lane.
The Lady Tigers will participate in a mini-conference crossover starting on September 30th in Mobile, Alabama against defending conference champion Spring Hill and Tuskegee. The road trip continues on October 1st in Columbia, South Carolina against Allen and on the 2nd against Benedict. On October 6th, Edward Waters will reacquaint themselves against former Gulf Coast Athletic Conference rival Tuskegee in Alabama. The Lady Tigers return to "The Sunshine State" on October 10th in Temple Terrace against Florida College. EWU returns to SIAC action on October 13th at Fort Valley State and at Clark Atlanta on October 14th.
Edward Waters comes back home on October 16th for an SIAC matchup against Savannah State, then it's right back on the road on October 18th at Albany State. The Lady Tigers will then have back-to-back home conference home game on October 22nd & 27th against Allen and Clark Atlanta respectively. EWU will have their final road trip of the regular season on October 30th against Savannah State, before coming home for back-to-back matches. On October 31st, EWU will host East Division rival Albany State, then on November 1st, the Lady Tigers will close the regular year and honor their seniors against Fort Valley State.
