Atlanta, Ga. – For the second consecutive week, Edward Waters University volleyball standout Naomy Vergez has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Offensive Player of the Week, following another dominant stretch of performances that helped power the Lady Tigers to a 3–1 record across four matches.
The graduate senior from the Dominican Republic continued her red-hot form, posting 55 kills, 38 digs, and four aces over the week. Vergez recorded three double-doubles during the four-match span, showcasing her consistency and all-around impact on both sides of the net.
She opened the week with 11 kills and 10 digs against Fort Valley State, followed by a dominant performance in the Lady Tigers' win over Benedict, where she tallied 19 kills and 10 digs. Vergez capped the weekend with another strong outing, registering 14 kills and 12 digs in a straight-set victory over Allen.
Vergez's leadership and versatility have been instrumental in Edward Waters' recent surge, as the Lady Tigers have won three of their last four matches, including multiple road victories against SIAC competition.
Her back-to-back weekly honors highlight not only her individual excellence but also the growing momentum of an Edward Waters program that continues to rise within the SIAC standings.
