Jacksonville, Florida-Third year head coach Stephen Peck, Jr. unveiled the 2023 Edward Waters University women's soccer schedule on Wednesday afternoon. This year's schedule features three preseason contests and 17 regular season games, with 12 of those contests being played in the friendly confines of the Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium.
The preseason portion of the schedule will begin at home on Wednesday, August 16th with a friendly match against Jacksonville FC's U-19 team at 6pm. EWU will next travel to Melbourne for a friendly against Florida Tech on Tuesday, August 22nd at 4pm, then will close the preseason at home on Monday, August 28th against North Florida Soccer Academy at. 6:00pm.
The Lady Tigers will begin the regular season with an eight-game homestand at Glover Stadium. EWU will start the regular season at home on Friday, September 1st at 2pm against Bluefield University, followed by another home match on Tuesday, September 5th at 2pm against HBCU and AME rival Allen University. The homestand continues on Thursday, September 7th against Florida Memorial at 1pm, then on Sunday, September 10th at 1pm against Johnson & Wales, followed by a match against Florida College on Thursday, September 14th at 4pm, and another Sunday match against Albany State on September 17th at 2pm. The homestand wraps up on Thursday, September 21st against crosstown rival Trinity Baptist at 7pm. EWU will hit the road for the first time in the regular season on Wednesday, September 27th against the Mocs of Florida Southern College in Lakeland at 7pm.
The Purple & Orange will open the month of October on the 3rd as they will face the Tritons of Eckerd College at home at 7pm. EWU will next become well acquainted with the road as they will embark on a four-game road trip, starting on Friday, October 6th in Raleigh, North Carolina against Shaw University at 7pm. Two days later on Sunday, October 8th, the Lady Tigers head to Winston-Salem to matchup against Carolina University at 2pm. Edward Waters returns to "The Sunshine State" for two road contests against Johnson University in Kissimmee on Wednesday, October 18th at 3pm, then to Temple Terrace on Friday, October 20th against Florida College at 2pm. Edward Waters will recognize their seniors in the final regular season home match on Friday, October 27th against the Bruins of Bob Jones University at 7pm.
Edward Waters will close the 2023 season with two road contests in South Florida, starting on Tuesday, October 31st in Miami Shores against Barry University at 6pm, then the Lady Tigers will head to Hialeah to face Florida National on Thursday, November 2nd at 2pm.
