Edward Waters Women’s Soccer Explodes for 14-1 Victory Over Allen, Secures First Win of 2025 Season

Jacksonville, Fla. — The Edward Waters University women's soccer team left no doubt on Wednesday evening, securing their first win of the 2025 season in emphatic fashion with a 14-1 rout of the visiting Allen University Yellowjackets at Nathaniel Glover Stadium. From the opening whistle, the Lady Tigers controlled possession, dictated the pace of play, and put together their most complete offensive performance of the year.

Sophomore forward Rose-Bertude Rosinvil had a career outing in her first game of the season, scoring four goals and adding two assists, consistently breaking down the Allen backline and setting the tone for EWU's relentless attack.

Senior leader Dahien Cabrera also delivered a hat trick with three goals, showcasing her finishing ability and leadership on the field.

The Lady Tigers spread the wealth with contributions across the lineup. Maya Carmona added her first two career goals as a Lady Tiger while Ellie Seekins added two more goals to go along with one assist.

Mya Joseph made sure to jump into the scoring action, chipping  in a score of her own. Sophomore Francesca Timenu compiled her first goal on the season while Junior Daniela Iduriaga also scored one goal in the match.

The offensive onslaught highlighted EWU's depth and chemistry, with multiple players not only finding the back of the net but also creating opportunities for teammates.

Edward Waters controlled the tempo and possession throughout the 90 minutes, rarely allowing Allen to mount any sustained pressure. The Lady Tigers' midfield dictated play, their defense held firm, and the finishing in the attacking third proved clinical.

"This was huge confidence boosting win for our program," said head coach Marissa Lewis. "We've been working hard to put together a complete performance, and tonight the players showed what they're capable of. It was an all-around team effort."

The Lady Tigers will look to carry this momentum into their next contest on Saturday, September 20, when they return to Nathaniel Glover Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff against Polk State College.
