Jacksonville, Fla. — The Edward Waters University women's soccer team opened their 2025 home slate on Thursday evening , falling 4-0 to the visiting Spring Hill College Badgers at Nathaniel Glover Stadium.
Spring Hill's offense was led by Sofia Jimenez Garcia, who netted two goals on the day, while teammates Ellie King and Thyri Willumssottir both added another to secure the victory. The Badgers controlled possession for much of the match and capitalized on their opportunities.
Despite the loss, the Tigers' defense battled hard throughout the contest, highlighted by six saves from the goalkeeping unit to keep the match within reach. Olivia Galloway finished with four saves and Solange Brown added two more saves.
The Tigers will look to bounce back quickly when they return to action on Monday, September 8, with a non-conference matchup against Auburn University, Montgomery, at 12:00 p.m. at Nathaniel Glover Stadium.
