Lawrenceville, Georgia-Edward Waters graduate shortstop Payton Shubert will represent Edward Waters at the 2023 Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game. The contest will take place on June 3rd at 7:00pm at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

A native of Pensacola, Shubert has had a solid season for the Purple & Orange in 2023. In 149 at bats, Shubert is fourth on the team in batting average at .315. He also has 47 hits, has driven in 36, and is the team leader in homeruns with six on the season.
