Jacksonville, Fla. — Edward Waters University Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Head Baseball Coach
Reginald Johnson, II has officially finalized his coaching staff for the upcoming 2025-26 season, announcing three key additions designed to strengthen player development, recruiting, and overall program success.
Johnson named Rey Otero as Associate Head Coach, Pitching Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator, while recently hired
Antwan Brown will serve as an Assistant Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach. In addition, recent Edward Waters graduate and former Tiger catcher
J.C. Medina has been appointed as the team's Graduate Assistant.
Otero Brings Leadership and Recruiting Expertise
With years of collegiate coaching experience, Rey Otero steps into a critical role overseeing the Tigers' pitching staff and spearheading the program's recruiting efforts. Known for his ability to develop arms and identify top-level talent, Otero is expected to make an immediate impact both on and off the diamond.

Brown to Lead JV Program and Assist Varsity Staff
Antwan Brown, a recent addition to the Tigers' baseball staff, will take on a dual role as Assistant Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach. Brown's responsibilities will include player development, game-day operations, and providing mentorship to the Tigers' rising talent at both the varsity and JV levels.
Medina Returns to Lead as Graduate Assistant

J.C. Medina rejoins the program in a new capacity, serving as the team's Graduate Assistant. A recent EWU graduate, Medina's familiarity with the program, leadership qualities, and firsthand playing experience will provide valuable insight and mentorship for the Tigers' current roster.
"It's always special when one of our own comes back to give back to the program," Johnson added. "J.C. knows what it takes to compete here and will be a tremendous asset to our coaching staff and student-athletes."
Looking Ahead to the 2026 Season
With the coaching staff now solidified, the Tigers turn their attention to offseason training and preparation for the 2026 campaign. Under Johnson's leadership, combined with the experience and energy of Otero, Brown, and Medina, the program is poised to take another step forward in its continued rise within the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and NCAA Division II ranks.
