Indianapolis, Indiana-Edward Waters Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach Marla Lindsay was recently appointed to the Women's Commission Executive Committee of USA Track & Field.
The purpose of the Commission is to empower women in all aspects of track and field by identifying barriers and creating solutions to promote gender equity. The Commission highlights accomplishments and provides resources to further skill sets and leadership opportunities for women in the sport of track and field.
The Commission also provides oversight and advice to USATF officers, Board of Directors, and National Office Management in reference to all issues concerning or effecting women members in USATF, recognizes and honors women leaders, influencers, and the accomplishments of women in USATF, both current and past, seeks resources and support for programs which would specifically benefit USATF female constituents, and serves as the liaison for USATF to global sports women's groups, ie, NACAC area of World Athletics and the World Athletics Diversity Task Force.
Coach Lindsay is a part of the 11 woman Executive Committee that oversees the Commission and ensures the advancement of women's participation in track & field.
