Daytona, FL., — Freshman Ian Kimutai finished first overall in the at the Emery-Riddle Cross Country Challenge Saturday morning. Kimuati finished the ERAU Cross Country Course in a time of 26:09.1, at least seven second ahead of the second place finisher.
Overall, the Tigers placed 11th out of 12 total teams in the college men's racing division. Elvis Kimutai placed 100th overall for EWU followed by Samuel Vessat, Jahmier Jackson and Amari Mckinnon in that order.
On the women's side, the Lady Tigers placed 13 out of 13 teams in the women's led by a 79th place finish by Paris McKinnon, Sammya Brown, De'nayizsa Fance, Abigail Watt, Valerie Brown, Arielle Brown and Nyela Sims.
The Edward Waters cross country teams will return to action October 5 as they travel to Ave Maria for the Ave Maria Cross Country Invitational.
