Clinton, Mississippi-The EWC Men's Cross Country team took to the course on Wednesday morning, participating in the 2020 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Tougaloo College at Choctaw Trails.
The Tigers finished in third position in the Men's 8,000 meters, with 73 points total and finishing in front of Tougaloo in fourth with 101 points. Xavier takes home second place honors with 31 points and Philander Smith was able to take the Men's team title with 28 points.
For EWC, Jourdan Bell was the team's highest finisher with a season and personal best time of 32:22.70, earning a seventh place finish. His top 10 finish earned him a spot on the GCAC All-Conference Team and qualifies him for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships in April. Isaiah Fowler earned a 17th place finish with a season and personal best time of 35:42.30. Jaquan McCants finished 18th (36:50.50), Julian Sutphin finished 21st (39:16.30), Anthony Walker finished 22nd (39:19.90), Gustavo Guzman finished 23rd (40:54.80), and J'Von Keene finished in 25th place (47:34.00).
