Edward Waters University Selects Ben Jones as Head Women's Golf Coach

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Edward Waters University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Ashley Conner has announced the hiring of Ben Jones as the new Head Women's Golf Coach.

Jones arrives at Edward Waters with more than 12 years of collegiate coaching and competitive experience, bringing a proven track record of student-athlete development, championship success, and program leadership.

"We are excited to welcome Ben Jones to the Tiger family," said Conner. "His experience leading successful collegiate programs, commitment to developing student-athletes, and passion for building a culture of excellence make him a tremendous addition to our athletics department. We look forward to the impact he will have on our women's golf program."

Prior to joining Edward Waters, Jones served five seasons as the head coach at Mount Mercy University. During his final season, he guided the program to the NAIA National Championship while leading the team to a No. 17 national ranking. Before becoming a head coach, Jones spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the nation's No. 1-ranked NJCAA Division II program, helping develop one of the country's premier collegiate teams.

A native of England, Jones developed his competitive foundation by participating in regional and county-level amateur tournaments before continuing his collegiate career in the United States. Throughout his playing career, he earned both individual and team accomplishments while competing at multiple levels.

Jones is widely recognized for his commitment to player development and fostering a championship culture. His coaching philosophy centers on preparing student-athletes for success both in competition and in life, while emphasizing discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement. Away from coaching, he remains an active competitor and continues to pursue opportunities to compete in tournament play.

Jones begins his duties immediately and will oversee all aspects of the Edward Waters women's golf program, including recruiting, player development, practice planning, competition management, and community engagement.
