CHARLESTON, SC – The Edward Waters University (EWU) women's golf team place 13th at the Low Tide Intercollegiate at Dunes West Golf & River club on February 17th. 

EWU finished the 54-hole event at 174-over par and ten shots ahead of UVA Wise. 

Leading the charge for the Tigers was freshman Juliane Borlongan, who came in hot on day one with rounds of 76 and 77. These were her first sub 80 rounds of her collegiate career and most definitely will not be her last. She carded an 80 on day two leaving with her first top 25 finish at T21 (17-over par). 

Freshman Pearl Jenkins demonstrated strong play of her own, besting herself each round with three sub 80 rounds of 79, 78, and 76. She ended the week at 17-over par which was good for a T21 finish alongside her teammate Borlongan. This was the second top 25 of her collegiate career.  

Junior Albane Le Helloco posted an impressive opening round of 74 that left her in a tie for 7th place. Helloco ended up finishing the final two rounds with 83, 87 (28-over par) and 49th place. Redshirt Sophomore Lexus Rudder-Hartnell showed a lot of improvement from her previous event (32 shots lower in comparison) with rounds of 109, 110, and 108 ending at 111 over-par and 74th place.  

Head coach Kelly Allen was pleased with team's performance, "The team has been playing well," said Allen. "They have worked hard and are trending up as we head into the second half of the season. I am really happy with what I see."
