Jacksonville, FL., -- Dr. Ivana Rich, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Edward Waters University, has been appointed to the Visit Jacksonville Board of Directors. This appointment marks a significant milestone in Dr. Rich's career and adds to her already impressive list of accomplishments.
Dr. Rich made history in October 2022 when she became the first African-American woman to lead the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Edward Waters University, Florida's oldest HBCU. With over seven years of experience in various roles at Norfolk State University, including Acting Athletic Director and Associate AD for external relations, Dr. Rich brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position on the Visit Jacksonville Board.
As a member of the Visit Jacksonville Board of Directors, Dr. Rich will join a group of local professionals dedicated to supporting and promoting tourism efforts in Jacksonville, Florida. The board serves as a liaison between Visit Jacksonville staff, the Tourist Development Council (TDC), and tourism industry businesses. Dr. Rich's appointment comes as part of a recent expansion of the board, which welcomed five new community leaders for the 2024-25 term.
