Jacksonville, FL., -- In honor of Women's History Month, Edward Waters University (EWU) Athletics hosted a groundbreaking event, "Wear Her Crown: Women in Leadership Panel & Networking Mixer," in collaboration with the RichHER Foundation and Social Sidebar. The event took place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the Adams-Jenkins Gym. It began with a panel discussion featuring accomplished women who shared their experiences and insights, followed by a networking mixer that provided attendees with valuable opportunities to forge connections and exchange ideas.

Among the businesses highlighted at the event were The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, representing women in sports management; Taming My M.E.S.S. Foundation, focusing on focuses on empowering women, especially those affected by the justice system, Chef FeFe, showcasing culinary entrepreneurship; Brianna Ellis Books, promoting literacy and authorship; The PD Experience Leadership Coaching, offering professional development services; Girl Scouts, representing youth leadership; and Royal & Sparkle Cleaning Services, demonstrating success in the service industry. The event also featured a diverse range of professionals, including realtors, legal experts, entrepreneurs, authors, and a representative from Teach for America.
The networking mixer was hosted by Miss Gabbea, an esteemed educator, author, and mentor. Miss Gabbea is the founder of Queens United Leadership Academy, Inc., which focuses on empowering women through holistic education and leadership development. Her presence added a layer of depth to the event, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and community building among women.
