Mrs. Carmelia Smith Honored with NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women’s Enhancement Graduate Scholarship

Jacksonville, FL., -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has proudly announced Mrs. Carmelia Smith, Athletics Business Manager, as one of the distinguished recipients of the 2025 Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Graduate Scholarship. This prestigious award recognizes her exceptional contributions to intercollegiate athletics and her commitment to advancing her career in the field.

The Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Graduate Scholarship, developed by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics and the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee, aims to expand opportunities for qualified minority and female candidates in intercollegiate athletics. Each year, 13 ethnic minorities and 13 female college graduates are awarded $10,000 to support their postgraduate education in programs related to sports administration or careers in intercollegiate athletics.

Mrs. Smith's dedication to excellence in athletics administration and her role as a mentor and leader have made her an exemplary candidate for this honor. Her selection highlights her academic achievements, professional accomplishments, and unwavering commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within collegiate sports.

Recipients of this scholarship must meet rigorous criteria, including maintaining a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2, demonstrating leadership skills, and being accepted into a graduate program that prepares them for a career in intercollegiate athletics. Mrs. Smith's recognition underscores her promise for continued success in this field.
