Box Score Thomasville, Georgia-Edward Waters' woes continued on Sunday afternoon in their road match against Thomas University at the TU Soccer Complex. The Lady Tigers suffered their second consecutive shutout loss, falling 5-0 to the NAIA's Nighthawks.
EWU (1-5-0) ran into a proverbial blitzkrieg of shots from Thomas (5-1-1) as the Nighthawks scored early and often as all five of Thomas' goals took place in the first half of the match.
The Nighthawks had 18 total shots in the match with 10 on goal, while the Lady Tigers had seven total shots with just two on goal.
Ellie Shurman led Edward Waters two total shots with one on goal, while both
Sophia Paffrath and
Jaleen Council having one shot apiece.
Jaianna Lewis-Kearse was called into action as the goalkeeper for Edward Waters, recording five saves in the loss.
Edward Waters will try their luck again on Wednesday afternoon as they will host the Mocs of Florida Southern. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm at the Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium and the match will be live streamed on the EWU Athletics YouTube Channel.
