Lady Tigers Finish Ninth At SIAC Cross Country Championships

Macon, Georgia-A season full of learning experiences was concluded on Friday afternoon as Edward Waters competed in their first SIAC Cross Country Championship presented by Cricket Wireless at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Complex. The Lady Tigers posted a ninth place finish in the women's 5k event with 269 points, finishing in front of Lane, Allen, and Fort Valley State.Benedict claimed the team title, followed by Albany State, Spring Hill, Savannah State, Central State, Clark Atlanta, Miles, Kentucky State, and Tuskegee.

Abnelle Jean-Louis was Edward Waters' highest finisher with a 45th place finish with a time of 26:35.48. Destiny Thomas was two spots behind in 47th place (26:54.76), followed by Sammya Brown in 52nd (27:37.69), Briana Morris is 61st (29:35.63), Da'Mariona Goggins in 67th (31:42.38), Mashanti Saddler in 69th (32:30.98), and Laelani Nesmith in 71st place (32:52.46).

The Lady Tigers will begin to turn their focus to the indoor track & field season which will begin in a short few weeks.
