Lady Tigers Place Sixth At FAMU Relays

Tallahassee, Florida-The Edward Waters Women's Outdoor Track & Field team headed to the capital city of Florida to compete in the 68th Annual FAMU Relays on Saturday at Pete Griffin Track. The Lady Tigers were able to take home a sixth place finish out of nine teams in the event.

On the Track, Edward Waters was led by Zyshai Brown who took home a top 10 finish in the Women's 100m, placing seventh with a time of 12.75s. Tiara Taylor placed 8th in the Women's 400m Hurdles, clocking in at 1:17.26. The Women's 4x100m relay team came in fifth (51:37), while the Women's Sprint Medley relay team placed 4th, coming in with a time of 4:53.97.

Leading the way in the field events were four Lady Tigers who had top 15 finishes in the Women's Long Jump. Zyshai Brown placed second with a mark of 5.43m, followed by Tiara Taylor in 11th (4.32m), Laelani Nesmith in 12th (4.01m), and Timmeka Andrews in 13th (3.59m).

Edward Waters will next be in action on April 10th in Columbia, South Carolina, competing in the University of South Carolina Gamecock Invitational.
