Edward Waters Quarterback Noah Bodden Named SIAC Newcomer of the Week for Second Time This Year

ATLANTA, Ga. – Following a near-flawless performance in leading Edward Waters University to a thrilling 27-24 home victory over Morehouse, Tiger quarterback Noah Bodden has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Newcomer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Bodden, a senior transfer, delivered one of the most efficient games in program history, completing 26-of-38 passes for 292 yards with three total touchdowns and no interceptions. His precision passing and poise under pressure gave the Tigers the offensive spark they needed in a tightly contested matchup inside Nathaniel Glover Stadium.

The highlight came late in the fourth quarter, when Bodden connected with senior wide receiver Izaiah Jean-Baptiste on a 26-yard touchdown strike with just 1:46 remaining, giving Edward Waters the decisive lead. The Tiger defense held strong on the final possession to secure the victory and improve EWU's record to 4-1.

Bodden's leadership and execution under pressure did not go unnoticed. His ability to spread the ball, avoid mistakes, and deliver in crunch time has quickly made him a centerpiece of the Tigers' offensive attack.

"Noah showed tremendous command of the game and an incredible level of efficiency," said Head Coach Brian Jenkins, Sr.,  "He has embraced his role here at Edward Waters and is proving to be the type of leader we need to take this program to the next level."

Bodden's recognition marks another milestone in what has already been a strong season for Edward Waters football. With SIAC play heating up, the Tigers continue to showcase balance on both sides of the ball — and now have one of the league's most dangerous signal callers under center.

The Tigers will look to build on their momentum as they prepare for their next matchup in SIAC play on October 11 against Kentucky State.

Congratulations to Noah Bodden on earning SIAC Newcomer of the Week honors for the second time this season — a well-deserved recognition for a statement performance.
