Tigers Set for High-Impact 2025 Football Season: Unity, Rivalries, and Redemption Await

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The roar is getting louder on Kings Road as Edward Waters University Football announces its highly anticipated 2025 season schedule — a thrilling slate filled with rivalries, history-making match ups, and the kind of Saturday showdowns that fans live for.

The Tigers will open the season in electric fashion on August 30 with a huge road rivalry clash at Savannah State, setting the tone early with a battle against a familiar foe. The next week, EWU returns to Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium for the home opener against Miles College on September 6, the reigning 2024 SIAC Champions.

Then, history will be made.

On September 13, Edward Waters hosts Virginia Union in the inaugural Unity Classic, a powerful and symbolic game that celebrates excellence, competition, and HBCU pride. This game is poised to become a new tradition — and the Tigers are ready to defend their home turf in front of a national spotlight.

EWU hits the road again on September 20 for one of its biggest non-conference tests of the season — a clash against Bethune-Cookman University, a perennial powerhouse that will challenge the Tigers on a big stage. Then it's back to Jacksonville for a showdown between Tiger mascots as Morehouse College visits on September 27, followed by a road trip to Kentucky State on October 11.

Be sure to circle October 18. That's when Benedict College comes to town, as the EWU Tigers seek revenge after falling to the Tigers. 31-28 on the final play of regulation.

Edward Waters will then face a huge road test against the 2024 SIAC Championship runner up, Clark Atlanta on October 25 and a rivalry classic to close out the regular season in the AME Classic against Allen University on November 8. But before that, fans can mark their calendars for one of the most beloved events of the year — Homecoming.

On November 1, the Tigers host Central State University in the annual Homecoming game, promising a week of celebration, unity, and an electric atmosphere for one of the most important dates on the calendar.

"We've built a schedule that challenges us, excites our fans, and showcases what Edward Waters football is all about," said Head Coach Toriano Morgan. "Our guys are hungry, focused, and ready to make history this fall."

With key match ups, rivalries renewed, and new traditions being born, the 2025 season is set to be one of the most exciting in EWU football history. Tiger Nation, it's time to show up, show out, and roar louder than ever.
