Atlanta, GA., -- The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) voted for their Players of the Week and senior outfielder
Kylah Gardner was selected as SIAC Softball Player of the Week.
This was Gardner's first time winning the award for the 2025 season.
The Belleview, FL native, had an outstanding week for the Lady Tigers as she finished with six hits, five runs scored, nine RBI, a double and drew two walks through five games last week. She helped EWU compile a 3-2 record for the week including a three-game sweep over Allen that included two shutout victories.
Kylah ranks in the top 10 of the SIAC in batting average with .444 (3rd), on base percentage with .509 (6th), slugging percentage with .662 (t-7th), OPS with 1.171 (6th), doubles with 12 (t-2nd), triples with five (3rd), home runs with three (t-6th), RBI with 33 (t-3rd), walks drawn with 16 (t-10th), and stolen basses with 24 (4th).
Gardner currently leads the conference in hits with 63 and runs scored with 39.
Kylah Gardner and EWU will return to action on Friday and Saturday as the Lady Tigers welcome in rival Savannah State for the three game SIAC East Division showdown. Edward Waters will be celebrating Senior Day on Saturday, April 12. The Lady Tigers will be honoring seniors:
