Atlanta, GA – The SIAC office voted and unveiled that Edward Water senior
Keivana Durand was selected as conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The hurler helped the Lady Tigers go 2-2 across four home contests last week. Durand finished the week collecting 21 strikeouts through 14 innings with one no hitter.
Durand, who is in her first year at EWU, was dominant in the circle, as the starter rang up 13 strikeouts in her first action as a Lady Tiger to help secure the 4-1, victory over Trinity Baptist. Durand allowed zero hits and one run over seven innings while walking three.
Even in a loss to Keiser. Durand rang up eight more strikeouts. She has an 3.00 ERA and a 1-1 record on the season.
Durand and the Lady Tigers will travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina for a six-game slate in the SIAC/CIAA Challenge where they will face Fayetteville State, Bluefield State, Bowie State, Fayetteville State again, Lincoln (Pa.) and Shaw.
