Head Football Coach
Toriano Morgan and the Purple & Orange ended the 2022 campaign with incredible momentum, closing the season on a four game winning streak, their longest winning streak in a season since 2007, and ending the year with a 5-6 overall record, EWU's best record since 2012. Edward Waters also finished the year 4-4 in SIAC play, finishing fourth in the East Division.
The 2023 schedule will be slightly different from previous seasons, as the SIAC has gone to a 4-4-2 scheduling model and has eliminated the two-division model. Each team in the league will face four primary opponents each season, in addition allowing for each team to face each conference member home and away in a four-year span. The two teams with the winning percentage in conference play will face each other in the 2023 SIAC Football Championship, presented by Cricket. EWU's four primary opponents will be Allen, Miles, Morehouse, and Savannah State.
The Tigers will open the 2023 season at home on Saturday, September 2nd in the 3rd Annual Big Cat Classic against Florida HBCU rival Florida Memorial at 6:00pm at Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium.
