Atlanta, Georgia-Not only can Edward Waters make the claim as the best softball program in the SIAC, but for the second consecutive season the Lady Tigers can add the claim of best HBCU softball program in the country. On Sunday during the Black College Sports Network SportsWrap show, the Lady Tigers were once again crowned as the 2023 BCSN HBCU NCAA-DII/NAIA Division Softball National Champions. Edward Waters flexed their dominance all season long, finishing the 2023 campaign with a 43-7 overall mark, the only HBCU softball program in the country to record 40 wins or more this season. The Lady Tigers received 65.27 points in the poll, besting #2 and CIAA Champion Bowie State, SIAC runner-up Tuskegee in third, fourth place and CIAA runner-up Claflin, and NAIA member Stillman rounding out this year's top five.
