Orlando, Florida-Edward Waters women's golf freshman Leiahnni Smith was the lone member of the squad to participate in the 2023 Jim Thorpe Invitational held at the Omni Resort at Championsgate. The two-day event brought together some of the country's finest junior, collegiate, and professional minority golfers to compete.

Smith finished the event shooting a 199 over her two days. She started the event shooting a first round 94, followed by a 105 in her second round action.

Smith and the Lady Tigers will next head to the Johnson & Wales Golf Invitational on April 16th-18th in Charlotte, North Carolina.
