Jacksonville, Florida-On tap for EWU Athletics this upcoming week, the regular season ends for men's & women's basketball, baseball & softball continue their homestands, indoor track & field heads to to "The Palmetto State", and women's golf returns to the links for their second event of the season.

Softball
The EWU softball squad looks to continue their hot start to the 2023 season. The Lady Tigers currently sit at 6-0, which is the best start to a season in the modern era history of the program. EWU will wrap up their eight game homestand on Monday, Feb. 13th by facing Trinity Baptist in an intracity matchup at J. Gardner "Nip" Sams. The doubleheader starts at 12:00pm and will both contests will be live streamed on the EWU Athletics YouTube page. 

The Lady Tigers will then begin play at the CIAA/SIAC Challenge, hosted by Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. On Friday, Feb. 17th, the Lady Tigers will battle Bowie State and Fayetteville State, on Saturday, Feb. 18th, EWU will face Virginia State and Claflin, while on Sunday Feb. 19th, the Purple & Orange will match up with Shaw

Baseball:
The Tigers also wrap up their season opening homestand this week with four contests. Edward Waters will matchup with Thomas University on Feb. 15th at Henry L. Aaron Field at J. P. Small Park. Edward Waters then officially opens SIAC play on Friday afternoon with a three-game series against Lemoyne-Owen. The Tigers and Magicians will meet in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon at 1:00pm and 4:00pm at J. P. Small. Then on Saturday afternoon, the two squads will head to 121 Financial Ballpark, home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to take part in the HBCU Heritage Classic at 2:00pm. Prior to first pitch of the contest, the Tigers will be bestowed with their 2022 HBCU National Championship rings.
