Birmingham, Alabama-The Edward Waters Women's Track & Field team continued the indoor portion of their schedule on Sunday at the KMS Invitational held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Notable finishes for the Lady Tigers on the track included an eighth place finish for the Women's 4x200m relay team of Janiya Peterson, Tiara Taylor, Laelani Nesmith, and Jasmine Taylor, finishing in a time of 2:00.52. Janiya Peterson finished in 26th position in the Women's 200m at 28.68s, while Tiara Taylor finished in 25th place in the Women's 400m at 1:05.66.
In field events, Caytlin Willis finished in 18th place in the Women's High Jump with a top jump up 1.35m (4' 5"). Saldy Amparo Smith finished in 21st in the same event at 1.25m (4' 1.25"). Tiara Taylor earned a top five finish in the Women's Triple Jump, finishing in fifth place with a mark of 10.89m (35' 8.75").
Edward Waters will next head to Columbia, South Carolina next Saturday and Sunday to take part in the South Carolina Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina.
