Jacksonville, Fla. — The Edward Waters University men's basketball team has been tabbed to finish fifth in the SIAC East Division, according to the league's 2025-26 Preseason Basketball Poll.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Cabral Huff, the Tigers will blend proven veterans with promising newcomers as they look to exceed expectations in a competitive conference slate.
The Tigers are anchored by Amari Floyd, who was named the SIAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the Preseason First-Team All-SIAC. Alongside Floyd, key returners Jaelen Nelson and Cyrus Huggard-Noal bring experience and leadership back to the lineup.
EWU also welcomes an influx of new talent, with Keshawn Evans, Ty Barbee, and Cameran Oates expected to play vital roles as the Tigers push to climb the standings.
"We embrace where we were picked, but we also know we have the pieces to compete at a high level," Huff said. "Our returning core and our newcomers give us depth, versatility, and toughness that will serve us well in conference play."
The Tigers will tip off their 2025-26 season in October with exhibition matchups against Florida A&M, Santa Fe College and Florida State College at Jacksonville before entering non-conference and SIAC action in November.
