ATLANTA, Ga. – It didn't take long for Keshawn Evans to introduce himself to the SIAC in a major way. After a pair of explosive performances at the 2025 South Regional Crossover hosted by Valdosta State, the Edward Waters forward has been named the SIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week — his first such honor in a Tigers uniform. 

Evans was nothing short of spectacular in his debut weekend, powering EWU to a 1–1 mark while showcasing elite two-way versatility and efficiency. Across two games, he averaged 20.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 block per contest, all while shooting a blistering 75% (12-of-16) from the field and 81% (17-of-21) from the free throw line in 35.5 minutes per game. 

In the Tigers' opening matchup — an 85–70 setback to host Valdosta State — Evans dominated the floor, finishing with 24 points, 17 rebounds, four steals, and four assists. His relentless attack on the glass and ability to create scoring opportunities kept EWU within striking distance throughout the night. 

Evans carried that momentum into the second game, leading the Tigers to a convincing 78–58 win over Florida Tech. He recorded another double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, setting the tone early and helping Edward Waters secure its first victory of the young season. 

With his standout opening weekend, Evans has quickly emerged as one of the SIAC's premier front court talents and a cornerstone for the Tigers as they hit the road for a pair of conference games against Lane and LeMoyne-Owen.
