Jacksonville, FL — Edward Waters University is thrilled to announce the promotion of
Chris Reedy from Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Co-Recruiting Coordinator to Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, a testament to his growing influence on the Tigers' resurgence since joining Head Coach
Cabral Huff's staff for the 2023–24 season. Reedy will now play a larger strategic role in both on-court leadership and talent acquisition.
Coach Reedy brings a wealth of experience from both the NJCAA and NCAA Division II ranks. Before arriving at EWU, he spent three seasons as an assistant at Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC), helping guide the Pirates to a 22–9 record. While there, he facilitated the recruitment of multiple All-Conference selections and All-Tournament standouts, showcasing his strength in talent identification and development.
At Columbus State University, Reedy honed his craft at the Division II level as a graduate assistant and assistant coach, mentoring several Peach Belt Conference All-Stars—a foundation that aligns perfectly with the demands of the SIAC and EWU's rising ambitions.
Since Reedy and Coach Huff joined forces ahead of the 2023–24 season, the Tigers have experienced a culture shift and on-court improvement. Under his recruiting leadership and coaching acumen, the team has steadily become more competitive within the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). Reedy's ability to recruit and re-recruit high-level athletes has been a cornerstone of the program's development. His transition into the Recruiting Coordinator role formalizes his dual impact—on both recruiting and in-game strategy.
"Coach Reedy's background at the JUCO level as well as at the D2 level were reasons I felt that he would be a great and integral member of the staff here at EWU," said Coach Huff. "His relentless work ethic and knowledge of high-level recruitable athletes at all levels cannot be questioned—as well as his ability to foster and build relationships. His experience across multiple levels, along with his tireless work ethic in recruiting and developing relationships, will help us continue drawing the best student-athletes to EWU and retaining our own as we build here in Duval. I'm excited to have Coach Reedy in his expanded role."
With Reedy stepping into one of the most influential roles behind Coach Huff, the Tigers are poised to be more competitive than ever. His promotion is evidence of EWU's commitment to building a program that blends continuity, culture, and high-level recruiting. As the upcoming season approaches, all eyes are on the Tigers as they gear up for a new chapter—in leadership and performance—under their sharpened coaching core.
