Jacksonville, FL., -- The Edward Waters baseball team dropped an South Regional contest to the visiting Embery-Riddle Eagles, 16-3 inside JP Small Memorial Park on Tuesday evening.
Embry-Riddle got on the board in the top of the first inning after Robby Post doubled down the right field line, Noah Clymer singled down the right field line, Timo Aracena singled down the right field line, Aiken Santana singled down the right field line, and Colin Mastromauro hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
EWU scored one run in the bottom of the third on a solo home run to right field by
Hugo Schoening following a 6-pitch at-bat.
ERAU scored four runs in the top of the fourth on a grand slam to right field by Aracena on a full count.
Anthony Bayyat took the loss for EWU. The starting pitcher went one inning, surrendering five runs on four hits, striking out none and walking two.
Torry Jones,
Misael Ramos, and Schoening each drove in one run for the Tigers. Schoening led EWU with two hits in two at bats. EWU turned two double plays in the game.
