Frankfort, KY., -- The 2024-25 Edward Waters men's basketball season ends with a 108-87 in the first round of the 2025 SIAC Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday afternoon, March 1 inside the William Exum Center. 

The loss ends the Tigers season with a 16-13 overall mark on the season and a 12-9 record in SIAC play. 

Despite being outscored, 60-47 in the second half of action EWU was dominate in the painted area scoring 50 points while adding 29 points off their bench. But the Thorobreds were scorching hot from three point land knocking down 12 three-pointers on 41.4%, including seven made threes in the second half on 53.8% from long range.

Ja'Kobe Williams was back in the lineup after missing the last seven games. The Duval native, scored a team-high 29 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Williams went 10-for-16 from the field, including two made three-pointers while knocking down seven of his 10 foul shots. Amari Floyd turned in 15 points and three rebounds while shooting 6-for-9 from the floor. 

Senior center Adonnis Tolbert led the Tigers bench scoring with 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting. Fellow senior D'Shun Edwards chipped in with nine points, eight rebounds and three steals. Senior guard RJ Noord finished with an impressive all around game adding seven points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. 

The Tigers will look to return most of their squad next season as they will only be losing five seniors. The 2024-25 season laid a solid foundation for head coach Cabral Huff and his staff to build upon for many years to come.
