Atlanta, GA., -- The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) offices announced their SIAC Players of the Week today. Freshman wing
Jaelen Nelson was selected as SIAC Newcomer of the Week. This is the second time this season that an EWU Tiger has earned this award.
Nelson was a key catalyst in Edward Waters dominating home win over Allen last week. The first year Tiger scored 14 points while nearly going perfect from the field shooting 6-for-7. Nelson chipped in three rebounds and connected on both his three-point shots.Â
A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Nelson has scored double figures in three consecutive games this season averaging 14.3 points on 56% shooting from the field as well as from three-point range. Nelson has knocked down nine three pointers across that span while also connecting on all six of his foul shots.
Nelson and the Tigers will be on the road for their next game with a match up against the second place Clark Atlanta Panthers inside L.S. Epps Gymnasium. Tip off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.Â
