Jacksonville, Florida-On Saturday afternoon, 132 students received their ultimate reward for four-to-six years of hard work as they received their bachelors/masters degrees during the 2024 Edward Waters University Commencement Exercises at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts.

Edward Waters President/Chief Executive Officer Dr. A. Zachary Faison presided over the event, encouraging the graduates to "live their best lives". After that proclamation, Jacksonville native, comedian, and recording artist, Lil' Duval appeared and performed his smash hit "Smile" during the event.

Of the 132 students, 31 student-athletes received their degrees, including 2024 Co-Class Valedictorian in baseball student-athlete Daiton Pass. Additionally five current Edward Waters coaches (Brian Jenkins, Sr-Assistant Head Football Coach/Offensive Coordinator, Spencer Carter-Running Backs Coach, Addison Hayes-Offensive Line Coach, Ashley Combast-Graduate Assistant Softball Coach, and Gustavo Guzman-2024 Duval County Teacher of the Year/Assistant Cross Country Coach) received their masters degrees as part of the largest graduating class in the history of the institution.
