Guimaraes, Portugal-Former Edward Waters men's basketball player Larry Kuimi now turns his attention to the professional ranks as the powerhouse forward/center has signed with Vitória de Guimarães of Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebo (Portuguese Basketball League).

In his lone season at Edward Waters, the Missouri City, Texas native emerged as one of the leaders of the Tigers men's basketball squad. Kuimi appeared in 26 contests last season and was second on the squad in points per game, averaging 15.2 and led the team in rebounds per game at 9.0. Kuimi's season best effort was his 40 point, 15 rebound game during the 2022 SIAC Basketball Championships, where the Tigers were able to outlast Fort Valley State in an upset victory.

Kuimi was instrumental in EWU's impressive run through their inaugural apperance at the SIAC Basketball Championships, helping the East Division #7 seed Tigers to advance to the quarterfinal round, where they ultimately fell to the eventual conference champion, Miles College.

Vitória's basketball history dates back to 1922. Recently, the club has gained more league success as they have won two Portuguese League Championships in 2007 and 2013. The basketball club is overseen by Vitória Sport Clube, the soccer club that competes in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese soccer.
