Jacksonville, Florida-Edward Waters Associate Vice President/Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Dr. Ivana Rich has announced the addition of Ashley Conner to the role of Associate Athletic Director for Student Services and Senior Woman Administrator.

Conner is a familiar face to Edward Waters as for the past three years, she has held various roles at the University. Prior to coming to the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Conner was the Executive Director of Student Success and Retention. Conner lead efforts to enhance students' academic and professional success through the effective coordination of the first- and second-year students, while also cultivating and maintaining a student-centered campus environment through curricular and co-curricular experiences. She also was a major contributor to the overall academic integration of the University while placing major emphasis on student retention and student alignment with faculty, while building a sense of community.

Prior to that, for two years, Conner was the Director of First and Second Year Experience at EWU. In this role, Conner served as an integral member of EWU's student retention efforts. She provided broad leadership with the oversight of the first-year summer bridge program, welcome/orientation week, first-year student transition, peer mentoring, and program development. She also provided leadership to staff to facilitate the adjustment of students academically, socially, and personally to the University. Conner dedicated assisting first-year students in their transition to EWU by addressing the social, cognitive, and emotional challenges students encountered. She was also responsible for the design and implementation of various programs and projects related to first- year and second-year students' ongoing personal development and leadership training.

Prior to her time at Edward Waters, Conner spent spent five years at Shaw University where she also had various roles including Admissions Counselor, Tour Coordinator, Athletics Liaison, and Associate Director of Admissions and Recruitment.

A native of Blythewood, South Carolina, Conner is a 2014 graduate of North Carolina Central University, where she holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work. Conner also holds a Master of Science Degree in Sports Administration from Delaware State University.
