Men's Basketball Announces Coaching Staff

Jacksonville, Florida-Edward Waters head men's basketball coach Cabral Huff has finalized his assistant coaching staff, it was announced this week.

Joining Huff on the sidelines are Brandon Britt, Chris Reedy, and EWU alum and former 1,000 point scorer for the Tigers, Charles-Eddie "Chuck" Smith.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Brandon Britt comes to Jacksonville after spending four season as the head boys basketball coach at Western High School, where in his final season, he led the Warriors to a 23-5 record, the best record in school history and earned a berth in the regional tournament for the first time in 10 season. Additionally, he mentored 13 student-athletes that earned college scholarships. Prior to his time at Western, he was the head coach of the Stamina AAU Boys 14-U Basketball Program, where his team posted a 58-4 record and were ranked the #1 AAU team in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Britt began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater, Indiana University Southeast for two seasons, where he helped take the Grenadiers to 31 wins during his time, developed four NAIA All-Americans, and seven All-Conference selections.

Britt also was a two-sport student-athlete, starting his playing career at NAIA Campbellsville University where he was a member of the Tigers' football team, before transferring to IU Southeast and joining the basketball program. Britt is married to his wife Angel who he has two children with, Ari and Braxton.

Coach Huff on Britt:  "Coach Britt's background at the grassroots level (High School & AAU) as well as the collegiate level were reasons I felt he would be an essential part of the staff here at EWU. His attention to detail is the reason he is know as a "developer" of talent as well as a builder of programs. His ties to different recruiting areas were important to our recruiting efforts. He is a tireless worker who isn't afraid to find a way to get the job done. His experience as a Head High School Coach will pay dividends in the EWU program. I'm ecstatic to bring Coach Britt and his family here to Duval."
