Jacksonville, Florida-Monday evening inside of historic Milne Auditorium was a star-studded affair as the Edward Waters Department of Intercollegiate Athletics celebrated its student-athletes achievements both academically and athletically with the 2023 ROAR Awards.

Each of EWU's 16 varsity sports honored their student-athletes with three awards for Coaches Choice,  Most Improved, and Most Outstanding Player. Additionally, the Department recognized 26 student-athletes who have achieved 4.0 grade point averages this semester.

2022 SIAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Year Fatima Ramirez was named the Female Student-Athlete of the Year, while 2023 SIAC Men's Volleyball Championship Most Valuable Player Evens Edouard received Male Student-Athlete of the Year honors. Fresh off of leading her team to a perfect 10-0 regular season record, an SIAC Regular Season Championship, and an SIAC Men's Volleyball Tournament Championship, 2023 SIAC Men's Volleyball Coach of the Year Lauren Ford was named the Edward Waters Athletics Coach of the Year.
