Atlanta, Georgia-The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) office released their 2023 Men's Volleyball All-Conference Teams and Individual Honors today. Edward Waters had five selections this year, highlighted by first year head coach Lauren Ford being chosen as the 2023 SIAC Men's Volleyball Coach of the Year. Sophomore Setter
Kenyon Haynes was selected as the Setter of the Year and First Team All-SIAC. Sophomore Middle
Joelvi Jimenez was also named First Team All-Conference, while Sophomore Outside Hitter
Kaelen Ingram and Redshirt Freshman Outside Hitter
Bryan Pepen received Second Team honors.
Ford, in her first season with the Tigers, led Edward Waters to an undefeated regular season (10-0) in conference play, their second consecutive SIAC Regular Season title, and the Number 1 seed in the upcoming SIAC Tourmanent.
A native of Chicago, Haynes totaled 277 assists this season and averaged 8.94 assists per set to lead the SIAC.
The Cotui, Dominican Republic native Jimenez earned his second consecutive First Team All-Conference selection on the strength of a dynamic and versatile season both offensively and defensively. In 47 sets played this season, Jimenez had 93 points, 3.05 points per set, 65 kills, 2.05 kills per set, seven service aces, 32 digs, 35 total blocks.
Kaelen Ingram, the native of Belize City, Belize earned his spot on the All-Conference squad by leading the conference in hitting percentage (.385), second in kills per set (4.05), and second in service aces (12).
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native
Bryan Pepen burst on to the scene in his debut season in Purple & Orange. Pepen was seventh in the SIAC in hitting percentage (.260), and third in kills per set (3.95).
