Fort Valley, GA., -- The Edward Waters men's volleyball team finished the season as the 2025 Cricket Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship Tournament Runner-Ups after a 3-1 defeat to Fort Valley State on Wednesday afternoon, April 16.
The Tigers got off to a slow start dropping the opening set, 25-16 but battled back win the second set, 25-23 and tied the match 1-1. But the Wildcats would go on to claim the final two sets, 26-16 and 25-21, to secure the championship title.
Captain
Richard Hendricks led the Tigers with 17 kills, nine digs, a block and an ace. Freshman outside hitter
Rojey Hutchinson notched a double-double in the contest finishing with 13 kills and 10 digs.
Senior setter
Oneil Daley played amazingly in his final outing as an EWU Tiger compiling 36 assists to go along with four kills, two aces and two blocks. Freshman liberoÂ
Jeremiah Martinez paced Edward Waters with 11 digs.
Jackson Mandell led all Tigers with four aces paired with two blocks and an assist.
Devonte Harmon and
Bryce Simmons both chipped in four and three kills respectfully for EWU.
Edward Waters finishes with a 12-14 overall record and 8-2 mark in SIAC action. The Tigers will look to build on an impressive season as they prepare for the 2026 season.
