Jacksonville, Florida-Dodging raindrops throughout the day, Edward Waters was able to get both contests of their doubleheader against former Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe, Claflin, completed on Friday afternoon at Henry L. Aaron Field at James P. Small Park. The Tigers were able to get back in the win column in a big way, taking both contests 10-3 and 5-2, to get back over the .500 mark in the young 2023 season.

In Game One, Edward Waters got the job done both offensively and defensively. The Tigers racked up 14 hits on the contest, scoring a season high 10 runs. Sophomore 1B Hugo Schoening went a perfect 4-for-4 in the matchup, with three doubles, an RBI, and a run scored. Freshman 3B Dwanye Maduro was just behind, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. On the mound, senior Alexander Davila was dominant, going 6.0 innings, allowing just two earned runs, and struck out seven Panthers in the matchup.

Game Two also saw another dominant pitching performance, this time from senior Will Valenti, who posted a season high 10 strikeouts, earning his first victory on the mound this season. Freshman RF Jacob Rowe, led the EWU offensive efforts, going 3-for-4 with a run scored, while both junior CF Daiton Pass, and graduate SS Payton Shubert each went 2-for-4 for Edward Waters.
