Orlando, Florida-During the 2023 USA Track & Field Annual Meeting, Edward Waters Head Track & Field/Cross Country Coach Marquita Mines and Assistant Coach Marla Lindsay received significant appointments from the United States Women's Track & Field Coaches Association

Both Mines and Lindsay already represent their home state commissions as the Women's Representatives for Virginia and North Carolina, respectively. Mines was appointed to the Sub-Committee for NCAA Rules and Regulations, while Lindsay, through a unanimous vote, was as Second Vice President of the USWTCA.

This is the second major appointment for Lindsay as earlier in the spring, she was appointed to the Women's Commission Executive Committee of USA Track & Field.
