Mount Vernon, Georgia-The Edward Waters Men's Track & Field team took second place at the Barons Indoor/Outdoor Invitational Meet, hosted by Brewton-Parker College at Montgomery County High School on Saturday afternoon.
EWU earned 36 total team points, finishing between first place Brewton-Parker with 57 points and third place Thomas who had 33.
GCAC All-Conference selection Jourdan Bell led the way for the Tigers with a first place finish in the Men's 60m Hurdles, finishing at 8.68s. J'Von Keene won the Men's 60m (7.14s) and the Men's 200m (22.64s), while Andrew Powers took third in the 60m (23.44s). The EWU "A" Men's 4x400m relay squad of Jourdan Bell, Aaron Puryear, Jr., Jacquan McCants, and Samuel Isreal won the event in a time of 3:25.58.
In field events, Samuel Isreal placed second in the Men's Long Jump at 6.44m. Van Franklin placed second in the Men's Shot Put with a toss of 9.77m and third in the Men's Weight Throw at 7.37m.
The Tigers will next head to the KMS Open in Birmingham, Alabama on January 23rd.
