Tigers Open Indoor Season At Gamecock Opener

Columbia, South Carolina-The EWC Men's Indoor Track & Field team opened their much anticipated 2021 season at the University of South Carolina Gamecock Opener on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers carried the mantle of the NAIA as the only association member of the meet, competing against several NCAA Division I programs.

Gustavo Guzman was EWC's highest finisher, placing 11th in the Men's Mile Run coming in at a time of 6:27.67. 

J'Von Keene and Willie Williams came in 16th and 17th respectively in the Men's 400m with Keene posting a time of 56.92 and Williams finishing in 58.58.

Keene also placed 18th in the Men's 200m at 24.37.

EWC had three finishers in the Men's 60m, led by Samuel Israel in 19th (7.46), Willie Williams in 20th (7.49), and Tavion Crittenden in 21st place (7.58).

Edward Waters will next head to Birmingham, Alabama to participate in the KMS Open on Sunday, January 31st.
