Jacksonville, Florida-Crossover season is upon us as the fall sports begin to wind down their seasons and winter sports action begins to heat up. We will have all of the bases covered in this week's edition of "This Week In Tigers Athletics".
Women's Volleyball
Fresh off of another undefeated week of work last week, the Lady Tigers come into their final week of the regular season scorching hot. Edward Waters has won their last seven consecutive contests and are winners of 10 of their last 11 matches. Thanks to Benedict's upset win against Albany State on Saturday, Edward Waters sits now two games head of the Golden Rams in the loss column with three games remaining to play. EWU has three matches this week with one coming on the road and two at home at the AJC.Â
The Lady Tigers will head to Savannah, Georgia on Monday for a matchup against Savannah State at 6:00pm. EWU will return to action on Tuesday evening at 6:0pm as they will host Albany State at the AJC for "Halloween Night". The 2023 regular season will conclude on Wednesday evening at 6:00pm as they will host Fort Valley State for Senior Night.

Women's Soccer
The Edward Waters women's soccer squad closed out the home portion of their schedule last week with a dominant 5-1 victory over Albany State, locking up the program's first winning season. The Lady Tigers will wrap up the regular season with two matches in South Florida. On Halloween, EWU will be in Miami Shores for a 6:00pm matchup against Barry University, then on Thursday, November 2nd, the Lady Tigers matchup with the Conquistadors of Florida National in the season finale in Hialeah at 2:00pm.

Men's Basketball
The Cabral Huff Era of Edward Waters men's basketball officially opens this week. The new look Purple & Orange will open the year with an exhibition matchup against NCAA Division I opponent USF on Thursday evening in Tampa at 7:00pm The contest will not be live streamed, but there will be an audio only broadcast of the contest via the Edward Waters Sports Network powered by YouTube with Sports Information Director and "Voice of the Tigers" Joshua C. Jackson providing all the exciting live action.

The 2023 EWU football season officially comes to an end at home on Saturday, November 4th against the Dragons of Virginia University of Lynchburg at 6:00pm at Glover Community Field & Stadium. A win for the Tigers in the matchup will clinch the program's first winning season since 2004. Prior to the start of the game, Edward Waters will recognize its ten seniors and graduate students who will be playing in their final home contests in their collegiate careers. The matchup will be streamed live on the Black College Sports Network and also aired live locally on WJXL-AM/1010XL.
