Faulk Earns Third Straight SIAC Offensive Player of the Week Honor, Adds D2Football.com Offensive Player of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The accolades continue to pile up for Edward Waters University senior quarterback Tavion Faulk following another career performance for the nationally ranked Tigers.

Faulk has been named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive week following Edward Waters' 61-42 home victory over then-No. 24 Kentucky State.

In addition to his latest conference honor, Faulk received national recognition after being selected as the D2Football.com Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Thorobreds.

The Carencro, Louisiana native, was sensational through the air, completing 32-of-40 passes for a career-high 498 yards and four touchdowns. Faulk also found the end zone on the ground with an eight-yard touchdown run, finishing the afternoon responsible for five total touchdowns.

Faulk accounted for more than 500 yards of total offense as the Tigers produced one of their most explosive offensive performances of the season. Edward Waters finished with a staggering 614 yards of total offense and 61 points against a nationally ranked Kentucky State squad.

The performance was even more impressive considering the circumstances. Edward Waters entered halftime trailing 28-14 before erupting for 47 points in the second half, including 28 in the fourth quarter, to complete the comeback and secure its fourth consecutive victory.

Faulk's four touchdown passes went to three different receivers. He connected with Jayden Pressey twice, while Tylon Williams and Izaiah Jean-Baptiste each hauled in touchdown receptions as the EWU passing attack overwhelmed the Kentucky State defense.

The latest performance continues an extraordinary stretch for the senior quarterback.

Faulk began his run of three consecutive SIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after throwing for 422 yards and five touchdowns while adding a rushing score in EWU's 55-30 victory over Savannah State. He followed that performance by completing 17-of-22 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 51 yards and two more scores in a 46-38 road victory over Morehouse.

Against Kentucky State, Faulk raised the bar once again with his 498-yard, five-touchdown performance, establishing himself as one of the most productive quarterbacks in the SIAC and earning national recognition from D2Football.com.

The three consecutive Offensive Player of the Week awards add to Faulk's growing collection of conference accolades this season. Earlier in the year, he was also selected as the SIAC Newcomer of the Week for the week of September 15, further highlighting the immediate impact he has made since arriving at Edward Waters.

Faulk's play has helped fuel a historic start for Edward Waters. Since suffering its lone loss of the season against NCAA Division I opponent Jackson State, EWU has rattled off four consecutive victories, including wins over Miles, Savannah State, Morehouse and Kentucky State.

The victory over the Thorobreds improved Edward Waters to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in SIAC play. The Tigers currently sit alone atop the SIAC standings.

The win also helped propel Edward Waters into uncharted territory. Following the victory over nationally ranked Kentucky State, the Tigers earned the program's first national ranking of its NCAA era, entering the D2Football.com Top 25 at No. 25 nationally.

Faulk's D2Football.com honor adds another historic accomplishment to the Tigers' rise, as his performance has helped put Edward Waters in the national conversation during its impressive 2026 campaign.

After enjoying a bye week, Faulk and the nationally ranked Tigers will return to action on Saturday, October 17, when Edward Waters travels to Columbia, South Carolina, for another important SIAC matchup against Benedict College.

The contest will be broadcast nationally on ESPN+ as Edward Waters looks to remain unbeaten in SIAC play and maintain its position atop the conference standings.
