Faulk Earns SIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week Honors After Four-Touchdown Performance

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Edward Waters University quarterback Tavion Faulk continues to make his presence felt across the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, earning SIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors following another standout performance for the Tigers.

Faulk helped lead Edward Waters to a 46-38 road victory over Morehouse College, accounting for four touchdowns as the Tigers picked up their third consecutive victory and remained unbeaten in SIAC play.

The junior signal caller was efficient through the air, completing 17-of-22 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Faulk completed better than 77 percent of his passes and finished the afternoon with a 148.86 quarterback rating.

Faulk was equally dangerous with his legs, rushing for 51 yards and two touchdowns to finish with 345 yards of total offense and four total scores.

After Morehouse opened the scoring with a field goal, Faulk helped the Tigers take control. Edward Waters grabbed a 7-3 advantage before Faulk called his own number for a 14-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter. He later added another rushing score from two yards out as EWU built a 20-10 advantage.

Faulk continued to make plays through the air after halftime. In the third quarter, he connected with Xavier Irvin for a 30-yard touchdown, extending Edward Waters' advantage. Later in the period, Faulk found Kyron Burroughs for a 16-yard touchdown, helping the Tigers build a commanding 46-10 lead.

The performance marked another big outing for Faulk following his six-touchdown effort in Edward Waters' 55-30 victory over Savannah State. Over the Tigers' last two games, Faulk has accounted for 10 total touchdowns, helping EWU extend its winning streak to three games.

The weekly conference recognition is also Faulk's second consecutive SIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor, after earning the award following his performance against Savannah State.

Faulk and the Tigers will now turn their attention to a return home as Edward Waters welcomes Kentucky State University to Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium on Saturday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m.

Saturday's contest will serve as High School Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Day, with PINK designated as the official game color.
