FORT VALLEY, GA – The Edward Waters men's volleyball team fell 3-1 on the road against the Fort Valley State Wildcats on Wednesday, April 9 inside the HPE Complex.
The loss was the first for the Tigers in conference play as they fell to 8-1 in SIAC action and 11-12 overall.
Edward Waters got off to a fantastic start as they won the first set, 25-23, but the Wildcats would fight back in the next three sets, 25-14, 25-14 and 25-15 to take the game and remain undefeated in conference.
Captain
Richard Hendricks led the Tigers with 17 kills and eight digs. Senior setter
Oneil Daley added 37 assists and seven digs.
Rojey Hutchinson tallied 14 kills and five digs for EWU while freshman libero
Jeremiah Martinez chipped in eight kills. Byrce Simmons paced the Tigers with three blocks.
Jackson Mandell added two blocks and four kill while Omari Morries tied the team lead with three blocks.
Edward Waters will be seeking revenge on Fort Valley State as the squads will wrap up their regular season with a Senior Day celebration April 12 at 3:00 pm inside the Adams-Jenkins Complex.
